A warm welcome to our new Carer Companion Team Lead, Louise

Louise started just two weeks ago, and already has made such a positive impact on the team, even delivering a staff wellbeing session on Monday! We caught up with Louise and here’s what she had to say:

“​Hi I’m Louise, my role is Carer Companion Team Leader. I began working at Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre at the beginning of 2024. I’m here to support carers to access respite knowing that their loved ones are in safe hands with one of our trusted volunteer Carer Companions. I will also be overseeing the volunteers, ensuring they have a point of call for their hard work.
My background is quite vast, I’m a carer myself for my dad, I have worked with children and families from diverse needs and backgrounds supporting them in their homes, schools, and out and about in the community.
I also have a holistic side, as I am trained in various wellbeing therapies.
I’m thrilled to be part of the WLCC team and can’t wait to meet everyone.”
