Due to the ongoing pandemic, and resultant uncertainty, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close our holiday lodge in Marton Mere holiday park for the remainder of 2021.

We appreciate this is disappointing but we have to protect the safety of our carers and trust you will understand.

We have however, recently launched an exciting new project called Mytime which connects carers with local hotels, restaurants and other businesses offering free overnight stays, afternoon teas, spa days, theatre tickets, and more.  The aim of the scheme is to give carers space to relax and recharge, and offer vital social interaction, helping them return to their caring role with renewed energy and confidence.

We know that as a carer, looking after a family member or friend can affect your physical health and mental well-being, and having time for yourself is crucial.  This is why Mytime was developed.

For more information, please visit http://mytime4carers.co.uk or call 07545 652775.

We hope to reopen the lodge in 2022 and below is a summary of what will be on offer.

What is the lodge like?

Fitted with wraparound decking for you to sit out on and relax, our lodge provides excellent spacious accommodation just a short walk from Marton mere and its natural beauty.

The lodge sleeps up to six people, has a parking bay for one vehicle, and comes with:

  • A large living room with gas fire, two sofas and TV/DVD player;
  • A separate dining area;
  • Central heating throughout;
  • A master double bedroom (with a smaller TV/DVD player) and en suite bathroom;
  • Two bedrooms with twin single beds;
  • A separate family bathroom;
  • Fully equipped kitchen with gas hob/oven, microwave, toaster, full size fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer;
  • There is also a travel cot, high chair, ironing board and patio furniture for you to enjoy;
  • Bedding is provided, though you are welcome to bring your own.  The only thing we require you to bring are towels and tea towels.

WiFi access is available in the main buildings of the Haven site.

Where is the lodge?

The lodge is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac within the Marton Mere holiday park which is only three miles from Blackpool’s vibrant centre.

The lodge is perfectly placed so you can relax and enjoy the facilities on the holiday park, whilst still being close enough to Blackpool, and Lytham St. Annes, if you fancy venturing further afield.

Who can hire the Lodge?

Any carer registered with us at Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre can hire the lodge.  Where possible we will attempt to prioritise bookings for young carers during school holidays.

Holiday time is too precious to waste, we know that.   As a Haven Site, Marton Mere boasts fantastic facilities and quality entertainment: from the indoor pool, outdoor SplashZone to kids’ clubs and evening shows.  For a full list of facilities, visit the Marton Mere Haven website for further information.

Please note, pets are not allowed onsite.

Is the holiday lodge wheelchair friendly?

Our holiday lodge has a wheelchair accessible ramp but it is not currently wheelchair accessible inside.  We are however looking into the viability of adapting the lodge to make it fully accessible.

The central village on the holiday park does have wheelchair accessible areas, the site staff are very friendly and if you have any queries you can visit the site management team for more information.

What does it cost?

Prices for the forthcoming season have not yet been finalised and we will update this section as soon as we are able to.

The rental of the holiday lodge includes power and water; and Haven entertainment passes, with discounts for many onsite facilities.

If you would like to hire the lodge but anticipate a struggle to meet the cost of your break, please contact us for a confidential and discrete discussion.
