Salary: Grade 9, £31,401 – £36,153 per annum.

The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements

37 hours per week

Your role:   

You will lead and deliver a range of projects related to asset based community engagement and involvement and take responsibility for all elements of the project management cycle.   

You will work closely together with partners across the public sector and community to achieve the best outcomes for residents.   

You will be fundamental to the delivery of the council’s Deal for Communities, engagement and involvement plan and activities. This will include ensuring effective and meaningful tenant engagement to influence services. As part of the role, you will ensure that the resident voice and engagement is at the heart of everything that we do as a council.   

About you:   

You will have a passion for community engagement and empowerment with a proven track record of delivering successful projects, from scoping and initiation to delivery and evaluation, chairing project teams and reporting to relevant governance boards.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work constructively with other departments, authorities and community and voluntary organisations, to meet shared goals. You will have experience of managing staff and others including third sector partners, with a good knowledge of asset based community development theory and practice.

The Deal is an informal agreement between the council and everyone who lives or works here to work together to create a better borough. The Deal for Communities Team is responsible for the delivery of the council’s engagement and involvement strategy. This is includes ensuring effective tenant engagement, with the tenants living in the council’s 22,000 homes.
