Warm, welcoming spaces are places people can visit to stay warm and see a friendly face, free of charge and without judgement. Each of the warm, welcoming spaces are slightly different in what they offer but it is promised that people will be met with warmth, kindness and a friendly Wigan borough welcome.

If people are worried about being able to afford their weekly food shop, one alternative to the mainstream supermarkets is to become a member of a local food pantry. Some do have membership criteria but others are open to anyone as they are set up to prevent food waste as well as provide affordable food to those in need. They are a great way of ensuring people can still buy fresh, healthy food.
