Borough based Support Group for ME/CFS

Activities,Carers 22 June 2015

During one of our assessments we were signposted to a support group for ME/CFS in the Borough!

Sarah who helps to run the group said:

“It can be very hard to find help and support for ME, especially on a local level. We are a small sufferer led group, who meet up every other Wednesday. It is an informal meeting where anyone can come along for a chat, carers or sufferers. Friends and family are also welcome. The meeting runs from 11.30 till 1.30 and people pop in and out with whatever suits them, from a quick 20min hello to the full time. It’s nice to have a chat and a laugh with people who can totally understand how you feel. The café is actually closed when we meet so food is not available to buy. But there is tea, coffee and water and usually some biscuits on hand too!”

In addition Sarah noted:

“We are not specifically a Fibromyalgia group, although we do have members that do also suffer from this condition along with the ME. These conditions are often both experienced together by sufferers. If Fibromyalgia sufferers feel they would benefit from the group they are more than welcome to come along and see.”

The group meets at:
The Courtyard Cafe Bistro
9b Stone Cross Lane North
Lowton
WA3 2SA

11.30am – 1.30pm

The next meeting is Wednesday, 24th from 11.30 – 1.30, the following one being Wednesday 8th July.
