New Project from Embrace: Personal Assistant Recruitment Service

Embrace have a new service to support families and individuals (both children and adults )who are in reciept of Direct Payments or a Personal Health Budget and need help finding Personal Assistants.

Our new leaflet (below) is aimed at recruiting people in Wigan and Leigh who are interested in an exciting career as a Personal Assistant.

For Children and Families

Our Parent Support Service helps families of children aged 0 to 19 who have a disability and need advocacy, information and advice. We also help families get their voice across in sometimes difficult meetings. If you think we may be able to help then please give us a call on: 01942 233323.

Activities and Duke of Edinburgh

We run an inclusive Duke of Edinburgh and Activities at Embrace. Our activities are run over the school holidays and are open to young adults aged 14-19 who have a disability and live in Wigan. Every activity we do is different so please follow us on Facebook to find out more or alternatively join our newsletter. Our next activity sessions are in May 2016.

For Adults

We support parents who have a learning disability and are going through the child protection arena. This can be a very difficult time for families and this service helps parents understand what is happening around them and the repercussions of proceedings.

Our Its Better Together project matches adults together who either have a disability or are lonely and isolated. The project matches people together based on shared interests and allows people to re-connect to their community.

Circles of Support – is a national movement led by people with disabilities and their families which aim to share knowledge and positive solutions to end isolation and loneliness, and ensure a person with a disability can lead good lives with choice, opportunities and control.
