WLCC are looking for Volunteers

A little update from our Carer Companion Team Leader, Louise.

She’s been busy and hard at work recruiting new volunteers who can support the Borough’s unpaid carers.

Louise says, “This week has felt very rewarding Speaking with our Unpaid Carers, reassuring them that Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre are here to help. Hearing the gratitude for our support.

I matched 2 carers with new Befrienders.

Recruited a new Carer Companion to offer respite to our Carers which I will match in the coming weeks.

Being a volunteer is more than giving up a couple of hours. It’s a life line to our Unpaid Carers but also it supports your well-being, helping you connect socially, feel part of a team and enhance your skills, knowledge and experience. We celebrate your hard work and commitment too.
